What to Keep in Mind When Setting Intentions

1. Start with Self-Reflection

ree
  • Ask: What truly matters to me right now?

  • Consider your current season of life—parenting, career shifts, wellness, spiritual growth—and choose intentions that honor that.

2. Keep It Purposeful, Not Performative

  • Intentions aren’t to-do lists or metrics. They’re about how you want to show up.

  • Example: Instead of “I will finish my portfolio,” try “I intend to create with clarity and confidence.”

3. Make It Present-Tense and Affirmative

  • Use language that feels active and empowering:

  • “I intend to move through challenges with grace.”

  • “I choose to lead with curiosity and calm.”

4. Let It Be Flexible

  • Intentions evolve. You’re not failing if they shift—you're growing.

  • Revisit and refine them as your priorities or emotional state change.

5. Anchor Them in Ritual or Routine

  • Pair your intention-setting with breathwork, journaling, or a morning mantra.

  • You might say: “Today, I intend to be fully present for Greylin and open to unexpected joy.”

6. Focus on the Journey, Not Just the Outcome

  • Intentions guide your approach, not just your destination.

  • They help you respond rather than react, and create rather than chase.
